Suicide continues to increase as a leading cause of death. There are many many reasons why someone chooses to end their life and most of the time the reason is left to speculation by those left behind. But besides the reason why, the bigger question is why weren’t they able to find relief from their darkness here on earth? The answer to that questions is also left to speculation and is likely very individualized. Typical avenues such as counseling and therapy may help some. Medications may help others. Still there are a great many who I believe avoid the typical healthcare system in order to avoid the stigma and label of mental illness. I believe there is a fear of being called crazy, a fear they may be told of a disease, a fear they will spend time in an institution against their will, a fear they will be forced to take medications, and a fear that somehow their dark secret will become public knowledge to not only family, but friends and coworkers as well. Potentially even clients affecting one’s livelihood. Therefore, one suffers alone trying to fix it in hiding only to find out darkness continues to close in.
This blog page is designed for those who suffer alone. It is a page created out of love and desire to help someone who is bogged down in all the pressures of the world that they can’t see a way out. Someone who is managing a professional life, caught up in the fast paced activity of day to day, relied upon by others, building a career, supporting a family. Someone who can’t find time to take a break from the responsibility in order to care for themselves. This page will offer a quiet connection of support that doesn’t scream mental health. That doesn’t scream you’re in therapy. That doesn’t scream you are failing.
This blog is built to share hope and healing through non-traditional means. If you are seeking light, but want to do so on your own time, at your own pace, and protect your anonymity and you are willing to accept there is a God, this site is for you.
